Emo Boys Hairstyles For 2009 Summer

Nothing will change much in the way of Emo hairstyles for the summer months except the length will get shorter to combat the heat. The longer Emo hairstyles can really be bothersome in the higher temperatures. The added hair care products used by the boys will not hold up very well either. Emo has nothing to do with flat hair but needs to be styled in many different ways to look good. The summer hairstyle needs to be short enough to be comfortable yet long enough to be styled. Add some brighter colors for a summer of fun and punk pizzazz.

The greasy look that is part of the Emo hairstyle for males is not a true Emo addition. The hair becomes so damaged by the use of products to achieve this look it needs special care to bring it back to a healthy condition.

Asian emo hair

During the summer months, Emo hair for boys should be fixed in styles that require only a small amount of hair care products to hold it in place. Unfortunately, hair wax is affected by the heat and can loose its grip when it gets too hot. Keep it simple but keep it up.

After applying your wax, style your hair using a straightening iron. You hair has to be thick or else the spikes will just fall down. It would stay that way in a few hours if done properly and if you do not change the temperature and humidity of the room. Asian hair is normally thick and flat so you won't have trouble with those factors.

Emo Fashion Styles Misconceptions

As the emo culture becomes increasingly popular, it seems more and more people are developing stereotypes and misconceptions regarding emo style. Perhaps the most common mistake is that people associate anyone who chooses an emo look with a depressed state of mind. Emo is a means of personal expression, which involves getting in touch with one’s emotions. Some of these emotions may be negative, but that surely does not mean that choosing an emo style makes youdepressed, self-destructive, or suicidal.

Emo Friends

Additionally, some people mistakenly identify emo style as “punk.” Although they share some common roots, punk style is somewhat different from emo. Punk seeks to defy societal norms in bold ways. In contrast, emo style seeks to show a person’s inner feelings through their outward appearance.

Sad Emo Boy

As such, it is frequently less drastic in terms of its non-conformity. Finally, many people seem to believe that adhering to one element of the emo style makes you entirely emo. Dying your hair black, for instance, is a personal choice and not always related to being emo. The same is true for wearing skinny jeans or canvas sneakers.

Each of these elements can act alone to suit any style. However, several elements must come together to be decidedly emo

Popular Emo Hairstyles

One of the latest trends to take the hairstyling world by storm is the “emo” look. Emo hairstyles are quite popular among teens and young adults, and can usually be worn by either males or females in virtually the same way.

Blonde Emo Hair

They are closely related to punk hairstyles, but generally less extreme in terms of height and color. Color actually plays an important role in defining emo hair. Locks are generally dyed a deep, rich color like black or dark brown.

Then, additional tones and highlights are added in shades like red, purple, and even blonde. As for the cut itself, emo hair is generally worn long for males and short for females. Bangs that hang in front of the eye are common, and the ends of the hair are usually razored to create an edgy texture. Speaking of texture, emo hair is usually worn sleek and straight.

However, more and more emo styles are using waxes and gels to create asymmetrical, messy looks with added height. Ultimately, an emo hairstyle must reflect the wearer’s personality and individualism. Thus, the rules defining these styles are quite flexible. Choices made regarding emo looks are highly personal and can be adapted to suit individual preferences.

Emo Hair Styling Tips For Emo Girls

Emo hairstyles are an increasingly popular trend among young people. They are a means of self-expression through personal appearance. However, achieving the perfect emo ‘do can sometimes be a struggle. Thankfully, there are some great tips to help you achieve the unique look you want.

Emo Hair Styling Tips

Since emo hairstyles are always straight, you will want to enlist some tools to help you get the sleekest texture. A flat iron is your best bet for a straight emo style. However, if you plan to use a heat-styling tool frequently, you will want to put a heat protective spray or cream on first.

Emo Hair Styling Tips

This keeps your hair from being completely fried, which is especially important for emo styles where hair has already been dyed and can be fragile. Also, once your hair is straight you will probably want to use a product to create a purposefully messy look.

Emo Hair Styling Tips

Your best options are to choose a firm holding gel or wax and simply tousle it through your locks. Stronger products help keep your style strong all day and prevent a lame, limp style from resulting. Be careful, though, to avoid products that make hair become hard. These end up looking gross after hours of wear.

Emo Music Trends

Emo Music

Music plays a vital role in the emo culture. For many emo youths, music provides a creative means of self-expression. Whether they are creating their own tunes or listening to emo bands, emo youths seem to be most comfortable in the musical setting. In fact, emo has developed into its own musical genre. With roots in punk and hardcore rock, emo music varies between soft and hard, slow and fast beats.

What makes music identifiable as emo, though, is not necessarily its composition. Rather, the lyrics play an important role. Emo music features lyrics that talk about the problems and challenges faced by emo youths in their daily lives. This ranges from family fights, broken hearts, loss of friendship, depression, and much more. The first bands were referred to as “emocore” and many came out of America’s Washington, D.C. region. However, the movement has since grown and many famous bands have legions of emo fans. Some of the most notable include My Chemical Romance, Fall Out Boy, Senses Fail, and Dashboard Confessional. Despite their devoted following, many emo youths have started to move away from such famous groups. They prefer more of the local, independent music scene. Emo bands can earn quite a following, though, and greatly impact the thoughts and feelings of their listeners.

Emo Fashion Styles For Emo Girls

Emo Fashion for Emo Girls

Girls who ascribe to the emo style tend to dress quite differently from their non-emo peers. Unlike many other girls, emo females do not aim to show off their sexuality through their outfits. They wear clothes that suit their mood and feelings.

Emo Fashion

These generally include very slim fitting outfits consisting of jeans and tees. However, they fail to reveal a lot of skin. Emo girl jeans are usually of a darker wash or may even be black. As for their shirts, graphic tees are quite popular, as are striped shirts. Another option is to add a vest or men’s tie to one’s shirt. Additionally, emo girls tend to wear canvas sneakers and shoes. Sandals and heels are not a part of the emo style.

Emo Girls Walking By...

For that matter, neither are shorts or skirts in most cases. To accessorize, emo girls wear wristbands, studded belts, and abstract necklaces. Emo girls do not wear expensive jewelry or any accessories made of gold and silver.

Emo Shoes

Although they usually wear earrings, these are expressive with large, plastic shapes in dark tones. Finally, emo girls may finish their fashion off with a purse or tote. However, these are not the fancy, leather bags others sometimes choose. Instead, they are generally of a bold, vintage design.

Emo Trendy Fashion

Popular Emo Bands Fashion Styles

Choosing emo clothing is ultimately a reflection of personal style. With a little looking, you can find pieces to fit your emo look almost anywhere. However, there are some brands that cater more to the needs o the emo population than others. Perhaps the most popular emo brands is Vans.

Originally geared towards the “skater” look, Vans offers a number of great style options for emo people. Vans produces everything from shoes to shirts to watches. They even have a new line of “vegan” shoes made with all-natural, non-animal materials. Converse is another big winner in the emo world. They are especially known for making great quality canvas sneakers that can be easily customized. Another great clothing brand for emo people is DC. DC offers apparel and shoes to fit any size, including children. Their notable brand symbol can be spotted as part of many emo wardrobes. Their logo tees and hoodies are especially popular as are their hats. A few other brands worth noting are Criminal Damage and Atticus, which sell some great skinny jeans in a variety of styles and colors. Some tight fitting tees can also be found at Silvein Clothing and Darkside Clothing

How Feelings OF A Truly Emo Should Be

How to be Truly Emo

As emo culture has become increasingly popular, many people have chosen to adopt certain aspects of the emo style without fully embracing the emo lifestyle. This had led to considerable controversy as those who consider themselves “true” emo are angered by those who simply pretend to be because they think it is trendy.

Emo Couple

What exactly makes someone a real emo, though, can be somewhat confusing. First, of course, there is the visible style expressed through one’s clothing and hairstyle choices. However, emo goes beyond a superficial look. It ultimately means identifying closely with one’s emotional self and not being afraid to express how you truly feel.

Creative pursuits, like music and art, are one key way that emo people seek to understand and express their inner feelings. In fact, emo bands are a major part of the culture. To be emo, one must not only appreciate the famous emo musicians, though. Instead, you must also look into new, obscure groups whose musical style and lyrics appeal to your feelings. Most importantly, though, to be emo you need to be true to yourself. This means finding ways to show off your individuality without merely copying what you see others doing.
