Robert Downy Jr. is the man. Let's just get that out of the way upfront. He's cool, badass, and funny. It doesn't take much more to impress me, so he's pretty well good in my book right there. Add to that his real life role as a comeback kid and you've got yourself a bona fide winner.
Between 1996 and 2001, Downey was frequently arrested on drug-related charges and went through several drug treatment programs, but had difficulty staying clean.Compare that to where he is now, and you've got to admire the guy. Plus, he makes awesome movies, which is really all I want out of actors. I don't need them to do charitable works. I don't care who they are dating, unless it results in naked pictures of girlfriends on the fibers. And I absolutely don't give a shit who designed their clothes. Just entertain me and I will be happy to hand over my $74 or whatever it costs for a movie ticket, dump truck of pop corn, and keg of Coke Zero these days.
The Sherlock Holmes 2 trailer makes me think that he has just added another solid flick to his repertoire. Wow, repertoire and bona fide in one post? I apologize.
