Katie Holmes: ‘No’ to Old Lady Clothes, ‘Yes’ to Day-of-the-Week Underwear

Katie Holmes always manages to look fabulous when she’s on (and off) the red carpet, but the August InStyle cover girl says there’s a fine line between becoming a fashion do — and a fashion don’t. “I’m not afraid to try a new designer or do something trendy, but it has to look right on my body,” the Holmes & Yang designer tells the magazine. “You don’t want to look like a fashion victim!” To prevent any missteps, she has a list of looks she avoids. “Certain colors don’t work on me; yellow isn’t my friend. I don’t like big, pouffy sleeves.
